Dist. 622 Voters Elect Coborn, Wheeler & Yener to School Board

Voters in the North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale School District voted in three candidates to the District 622 School Board Tuesday.

Candidates Amy Coborn, Mark Wheeler and Michelle Yener were chosen by voters from a field of eight candidates.

St. Michael-Albertville Schools Re-Elect Board Members

Voters approved three school board members on Election Day for the St. Michael-Albertville School District.

Gayle Weber and Douglas Birk will serve new terms on the 6-member school board.  Newcomer Jeff Lindquist will take School Board Chairperson Charles Lefebvre's seat for the next term.

One Newcomer Elected to Stillwater School Board

Three incumbents were re-elected and one newcomer was selected to join the Stillwater Area Public Schools' Board.

Tom Lehmann of Lake Elmo will join incumbents George Hoeppner, Natalie Fedie and Natasha Fleischman.

Hoeppner will be sworn into office in January.

Scott Papke will end his term in December. Papke had served on the board since 2007.

Suspicious Smell Forces Evacuation of Prior Lake Elementary School

Officials evacuated Westwood Elementary School in Prior Lake early Monday morning after a custodian detected a possible gas leak in the building.

The custodian first noticed a suspicious smell near the boiler room around 5:30 a.m.  He quickly noticed the auxiliary boilers was not functioning properly and shut it down.
